Polls Unfairly Questioned
It has come to our attention that enemies of the state are spreading vicious rumors. As conscientious citizens, it is our duty to expose and debunk them; only when that fails may we reluctantly silence them for the greater good.
Some people will say anything to malign the state's glorious election apparatus, but their voices have no place in any respectful determination of America's future.

Streamlining Checks and Balances
John G. Roberts, Jr., was confirmed on Thursday as the 17th Chief Justice of the United States.
"I view the vote this morning as confirmation of what is, for me, a bedrock principle -- that judging is different from politics," said Roberts, apparently in reference to the nonjudgmental treatment he was shown in his appointment.
Roberts is known for his previous high-minded decisions, as in the Hamdan v. Rumsfeld case. That ruling upheld the military's right to the absence of trial by jury.
A less well-known ruling by Roberts, Hedgepeth v. Washington Metro Authority, asserted the government's Constitutional right to handcuff, search, interrogate, book, and fingerprint 12-year-old girls for eating french fries in public.

Private Public Fund Management
The International Monetary Fund and World Bank concluded a Washington meeting this Sunday. The secret proceedings, though likely to benefit the unelected representatives' constituents, were nonetheless overshadowed by a more imminent threat.
In the words of John Wolfensohn, World Bank president, "One need only look at the cement barriers surrounding these buildings to understand the big difference of the past year." This difference, albeit incremental, is the skill with which officials have learned to isolate themselves from the public they represent.
But will isolation have unintended effects? How efficiently can wealth be centralized when the workers are not directly controlled and subjugated? As Wolfensohn says, "The danger is that ... we lose sight of the longer-term and equally urgent causes of our insecure world: poverty, frustration, and lack of hope."
